This is a very rare 1933 japanese military exercise badge. I think this might be one of the most sought after badges that appears in the excellent book, in the name of a living god. This was in my own collection, and i've only ever hda another, and that was about 3 years ago. The front has planes in the sky with a searchlight on them, men wearing ags masks with a machine gun pointing at the planes. The kanji on the front reads shiba (an area in tokyo). The back reads shibaku bougoudan daienshu kinen (shiba ward defense large maneuvers) & showa 8 nen 8 gatsu (august, 1933). According to hte book this is made of solid silver. The weight is just over 17 grams. It measures 40 mm from top to bottom. The condition is excellent. I've taken many photos with different backgrounds, you can see just how nice it is.Polish hte back with silver polish if you want it shiny.
