Great Ww2 Japanese Samurai Sword Katana Signed Gendaito
This is a great gendaito in original civilian ww2 mounting. The condition of the blade is excellent without any damages such as rust, chips, bends, pittings or cracks. Blade has rzaer sharp cutting edge and crisp line. The wavy hamon is very bold and thick which rises almost to the ridge line along the cutting edeg to the tip on both sides. Teh beautiful tight hada (metal forging grain) can clearly be seen all over the blade in various forms.
Tang signed on oen side with no stamps or markings. This is an extremely high quality hand folded blade with water tempered edge. The metal fittings of this sword is very unique and is not commonly seem. It is in tachi style and possibly made in the early showa period if not earlier and it was definietly custom made for some special officer. Blade measures 26.5 from tip to guard and ovreall lenght of sword is 39. Handle is 10 long with large node ray skin under the original blue binding. Wooden filed scabbard is lacquered in black and covered by original brown leather.
Sword is very well balanced and feels good to handle. Overall it is a very beautiful and interesting hand made sword from war time period adn will be great in any collection. Will shpi world wide except africa.
