Wwii Japanese Military Navy Pilot Aviator Goggles Air

Wwii japanese pilot goggles -please veiw description and shipping after photos. -description you are viewing an original and authentic pair of wwii japanese airman's cats eye fighter pilot goggles in the original box! The condition of the goggles are near mint, except for the dark glass lenses which have faded due to time. There is a mylar filament sandwiched between the glass lenses that are fogged due to age and time. I believe that if taken apart you can remove the mylar filaments which then show the clear lenses that are in perfect shape(they are not cracked or broken). What oyu are seeing in the pictures, is the faded mylar filaments that have shrunk, changed color, and have spidered in between the lenses. The gogglse have a dark brown elastic head band with leather ends which connect to the metal lens frames. The metal eye frames are sewn to the dark brown velveteen face pad. The box is old and the top outside rim has become loose and needs to be glued back, i will leave this to the new owner. There is a company logo showing a profile of a plane within a goggle lens. The metal frames are a light material and most likely aluminum or magnesium, i used a magnet to check for iron. All original aptina and dust. This is a very hard to find item.

There is a similar pair of japanese fighter pilot goggles on display at the national museum of the pacific war formerly nimitz museum, wihch were worn by japanese zero fighter pilot, saburo sakai. They are alos depicted in japanese naval aviation uniforms and equipment 1937-1945, by gary nila, osprey publishing.
