Straight from the vet. First time offered. Is this wwii gendaito sword taken from the island of saipan.

At least that is whta i was told. Untouched, guaranteed hand forged and water tempered. Guaranteed origianl wwii japanese. Overall sword is in very nice condition. Blade sports a ibg wide suguha hamon with nice activity in it. Hamon is visible entire length of the blade and into the tip.

Tip is somewhat extended, longer than most. Blade is very clean, strong and robust. No nicks, chips, cracks or bends. Cutting edge is 25 7/8 inches long. Hada (forging pattern) si itame and can be easily seen in the blade.

Handle si tight, no fraying or loss. Same' in the handle is very good with no cracking or loss.

All fittings have matching numbers, in very nice condition and color. Scabbard hsa some minor paint loss but no dents. Sword comes with an officers tassel and surernder tag.

Sword aslo has braided cord attached. These braids were done by us serviceman returning home on transport ships. When there was little else for them to do. An added bonus for wwii militaria.
